HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and Danish Minister for Environment and Food Jakob Ellemann-Jensen visited the Finnish Parliament on Thursday, 13 September. The visitors were received by Speaker of Parliament Paula Risikko. The discussion touched especially on environmental issues that, as the Speaker of Parliament pointed out, are something that Finland and Denmark have in common.
"Both Finland and Denmark stand at the forefront in the fight against climate change and the promotion of sustainable development," said Risikko.
Speaker of Parliament Risikko also shared details of the renovations to the Parliament Building and of the festivities surrounding Finland's centenary of independence. This year also marks the centennial of Denmark's recognition of Finnish independence and the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.
