The autumn session has begun

Parliament's autumn session began this week. Speaker of Parliament Anu Vehviläinen said in a press briefing on 7 September that she expects a busy autumn session. The Government is expected to submit eight government reports and nearly 180 government proposals to Parliament during the autumn term.

Parliament's corona restrictions are still in place, but the aim is to gradually open Parliament's functions. According to Speaker Vehviläinen, the plan is to first remove the restriction on the maximum number of people allowed in the Plenary Hall. Currently, the main floor of the Plenary Hall may have a maximum of 74 Members of Parliament.
